What I liked: - Cozy - Very friendly service - Authentic food and drink choices What I did not like: - Very limited veggie choices without eggs, I would have loved Knoedel or big salads with goat cheese or something like that

Visited the restaurant again today - and definitely again after the lookdown. Good food, good ambience and an even better cellar. Good hygiene concept.

Location not recommended! That should be Frankfurt or Hessian culinary art?

Super beef with green sauce! Otherwise simply cozy and uncomplicated with various Hessian classics at fair prices. Service always very friendly.

Never again. "Frankfurter schnitzel, fried potatoes, green sauce, salad". Salad: partly canned vegetables, tomato tasteless. Schnitzel: deep-fried, difficult to cut, completely dry. Green sauce and fried potatoes are still ok. Cutlery and crockery are at campsite level. The menu is confusing. Friendly service. Location not recommended.

Super delicious food! My first experience with the green sauce and cider! The map was a bit difficult to read because many different fonts were used and everything was colorful ... Which, admittedly, went well with the restaurant :-)

Such a nice traditional Frankfurt place. Enjoy the apple wine and the green sauce. Staff is nice, food is nice, prices are moderate.

So the food is ok if you like it. The shop is mega old and needs a renovation! The toilets are really shabby. But the icing on the cake are the waiters, drinking schnapps with the guests who are well known. You have to wait forever until you can order something, then the whole thing takes forever. If you still need something while eating, you will never get paid! That was the last time - just not recommendable, there is better in ffm than that!

Super delicious food and also important, the service is right. One of the very few places in Frankfurt where we feel welcome as a family with children. Good traditional Hessian cuisine with attentive service that is also great during Corona times. THANK YOU!

This is not a typical German, but a typical Hessish place! And it's absolutely amazing in that sense! It's like going back in time (and a shabby, but lovely interior helps it) to experience Hessen cuisine at its best: ebbelwoi in old darkened from time bembels, typical local soup from Sauerkraut and a fine variety of schnitzels. A menu of ca. 26 EURO per person (for groups of 4+ people) is amazing for taking your guests to experience old Frankfurt. Definitely coming again!

Very friendly service, our server was excellent, too - quick and remembering everyone's orders and wishes all evening, even though we were one of two large groups. The food was good, as were the drinks. Reasonable prices.

Fully legit Frankfurt cuisine away from the Sachsenhausen tourist crush. A favorite meeting spot for current and former locals to rendezvous. Get yourself a bembel jug of Apfelwein, "sauergespritzt" with mineral water and a splash of apple juice. Grüne Soße on meat or just eggs and potatoes. Finish up with an espresso to walk off dinner up the Berger Straße.

Traditional and old-established apple wine bar in Frankfurt city center with a beautiful garden. We came as a group, with the food were all very satisfied, the service is competent, efficient and friendly.

The best German experience. Lovely schnitzel.

Really good Germans cousine. Multiple choice of Äpfelweine. Waitresses were quick and kind. It wasn't a problem that we hadn't a reservation like in others restaurant near by.

The frankfurter schnitzel was excellent. The green frankfurter sauce tastes great with it as well. This restaurant has an authentic local atmosphere.

Very disappointing. I live in Frankfurt for 4 years now and this was the most disappointing Appelwoi Pub I have visited the whole time. Think they just became too popular and don't need to make any effort anymore.

Nice place for traditional Hessian cuisine with Frankfurt Schnitzel (in the back) with traditional 7 herbs green sauce or Odenwald Schnitzel (in the front) with cream cheese-like sauce. Very nice setting in the backyard in a quiet street and prices are ok for Frankfurt, but the sauces both Frankfurt and Odenwald were o only 4 star quality. The green sauce too sour, the cheese sauce too liquid. But the schnitzel was great. In total a very good option for traditional Hessian food.

never ever again horrible food , tomato soup was chunky and more like a bolognese, sausage was low grade meat and blend taste and a bit iffy, dessert was great but sugar makes everythong edible tv for soccer match was a bit small and only viewable from certain rows

Made the mistake to order the huge ham. Everybody else ordered the best schnitzel ever. Don't go for the big piece of ham. Loved the atmosphere and all. Could only recommend this place, very rustic

Some dishes seemed very good but salads are not part of it. Service is not very friendly. All in all, still a good place to go for typical Frankfurt food
